General instructions

Users of Cid numbers can use Cid Manager services both with the web-based user interface and with SMS commands.

If the reachability service Prime or Pro is activated for the Cid number, you need to specify a so-called mobile number for the Cid number before you can start using SMS commands. With the mobile number specified, Cid Manager can direct incoming SMS commands to the right Cid number. For more information on the mobile number, see the section "Mobile number".

If the reachability service Answering Circle is activated for the Cid number, SMS commands can be sent both from the mobile number assigned to the Cid number and from mobile phone numbers saved in the list of answering point numbers that belongs to the owner of the Cid number in the Answering Circle.

Phone numbers for SMS commands

From Telia's mobile phone subscription:

15530

From other operators' mobile phone subscriptions:

020123456

Return messages sent by Cid Manager are in Finnish or in English depending on the user's default language settings.

If there is an error, the user receives a return message explaining why the error occurred.

NB: If the mobile phone subscription has an SMS bar to short numbers (15530) and Cid number from a mobile phone has been activated, the SMS commands must be sent to the number *155*020123456 (i.e. enter the *155* prefix before the number) in order for the caller's number to be shown correctly.

NB: The *155* prefix does not work for SMS messages in all mobile phone models.

NB: Always enter CID at the beginning of SMS commands. If you fail to do this, Cid Manager cannot identify the command correctly. The commands are not case-sensitive, and thus CID, cid, and Cid will all work correctly.
